The objective of this project, was to renovate and broaden,
a small and dated, holiday home bathroom,
which was a later addition inside an old, stone family house from the 50s,
in Halkidiki, Greece.
The whole space was designed to be metamorphosed into a soothing sanctuary,
a haven of relaxation and self-care.
To achieve that, we kept the architectural design minimal, used pastel shades,
natural textures, fine materials and a variety of lighting effects.
Its existing pedestal sink and toilet were replaced
by a floating vanity countertop with a vessel sink and a wall-hung toilet.
Post-removing its little bathtub,
a new separate shower room was created as an extension.
The floor, countertop and half of the walls
were covered by cast in situ, custom-made, light-hued terrazzo,
paired with blush painted, rough surfaces
and brushed brass fixtures, for a touch of luxury.
As lighting was a major design parameter,
several different light options are available,
in order to make the room feel comfortable throughout day and night. <
